How purity affects the rate
24K is pure gold; 22K, 18K and 14K alloys carry proportionally lower rates (rate × karat ÷ 24). Higher karat means richer colour and value; lower karat means greater strength for everyday designs. Every piece is BIS Hallmarked, so the purity stamped is the purity you get.
Frequently asked questions
What does 22K or 18K purity actually mean?
Karat measures gold content out of 24 parts. 22K is 91.6% pure gold (stamped 916), 18K is 75% (750) and 14K is 58.5% (585). The remainder is alloy that adds strength and colour.
How do I know the purity is genuine?
Every Kalash piece is BIS Hallmarked — the official Government of India certification. The hallmark is laser-stamped on the piece with the purity mark, BIS logo and a unique HUID you can verify in the BIS Care app.
What are making charges?
Making charges cover the craftsmanship of turning raw gold into your design — casting, setting, polishing and finishing. They're shown as a separate line in the price breakup on every product page, so you always know exactly what you're paying for.
Is it safe to buy gold jewellery online?
